قال صندوق النقد الدولي الجمعة 20 أيار مايو، إنه مدد الدعم المالي للصومال في إطار برنامج (التسهيل الائتماني الممدد) حتى 17 أغسطس آب.
وفي أوائل هذا الشهر، طلبت الحكومة الصومالية من الصندوق تمديد دعمها المالي لمدة 3 أشهر.
وكان الصندوق قد حذر في فبراير شباط من مخاطر الانتهاء التلقائي لأجل برنامج دعم الميزانية الذي تبلغ مدته 3 سنوات وقيمته 400 مليون دولار تقريباً، بعد تأجيل الانتخابات التشريعية والرئاسية
