US House passes Uighur human rights bill

STOCKS NEWS 24 – Washington, May 28 (Petra) — The US House of Representatives Wednesday evening passed a bill that would impose sanctions on Chinese officials involved in the mass surveillance and detention of Uighur Muslims in the country’s western region of Xinjiang.

The legislation was approved by a vote of 413-1 after passing overwhelmingly in the Senate earlier this month. It will now head to President Donald Trump to sign it into law.
